The “Furry Frenzies” commercial was a project I worked on at click3x. Specifically, I posed the dog and rabbit character for the logo intro (see below), did an animation test with these characters starting the race (see also below), worked on the facial blendshapes for the cat and the hedgehog character, designed and modeled the cat’s props (hat, necklace, shopping bags), the hedgehog’s props (water bottle, stopwatch, photo camera) and the playground at the rabbit shot. I also modeled the boutique at the cat shot, the trash cans at the dog shot and textured the street props. All the above work was done in Maya. (July-August 2010)

Thesis production. Spring 2010. CADA. NYU.

Modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, animation in Maya. 2d drawings in ArtRage Studio Pro. Compositing in After Effects. Beachless was presented in the graduation panel in the beginning of May and was screened in the CADA showcase the same month. The thesis project was successful in its original cause but the animation short was put back under production, revisited. Beachless was finally done on June 2011 and started a tour at the festivals.

Beachless is a story of a consumer going to the beach. His attempts for an empty spot are in vain since either the beach is overcrowded or his over-consuming habits prevent him from finding space to relax.

This residence in the outskirts of Athens, Greece, will serve as the home of a new family. The site’s adjacent area on the north is 3m. lower and on the south 2.5 m. higher. The clients asked for a (120 sq.m.) house that would be protected from the strong north wind. The common areas should be in one continuous space. Sufficient daylight should access the basement areas and the house’s verandas should be set on the same level with the ground and open to the rest of the site.

The proposed scheme has the residence planned on two levels of small height difference. This solution strengthens the separation of the common areas from the bedrooms, gives the necessary height for window openings at the south part of the basement and keeps the verandas at the ground level. The basement’s north part will be used as a garage, which is accessed with a ramp on the north side of the site. The garage entrance will be on the same level with the adjacent site. A thick stone wall would run the north side of the residence and extend to the east and west in order to protect the two verandas from the strong north wind.

“The wedding ring” is an animation short based on the lyrics of the homonymous song by Thanassis Papakonstantinou. A story of a married man that, being bored of his wedded life, throws his wedding ring to the sea. My first attempt on creating an animation short and my final project for the 2d animation class at NYU’s non-credit program, with the use of the traditional hand-drawn method (production 2008).

Production Manager & Assistant Art Director Maria Stefanidis. Music from Thanassis Papakonstantinou’s “Persefoni?” used with the song writer’s permission. Sounds by partnersinrhyme.com / soundsnap.com / pacdv.com. The short was officially selected for the London Greek Film Festival 2008 and the San Francisco Greek Film Festival 2009.
